Wait, a minute. Let me take a sip of my coffee.
So, I’m putting on a blogging class! Yay!
I came up with the blogging class idea last year and with the outpouring of interest and support I decided to make that dream a reality!
This blogging class is for:
–Peeps who want to start a blog but don’t know where to start.
–Peeps who already have a blog, but want to make it more awesome than it already is.
In the class we will discuss:
–So Which Blogging Platform Really is Best?: We’ll go over the pros and cons of WordPress, Blogger, Typepad, Squarespace, Tumblr etc. and decide which one is best for you.
–To Niche or Not to Niche: What the hell should I make my blog about? What sort of blog do people like to read? Should I just post a bunch of selfies and hope that fashion designers will pay for advertising on my blog?
–Is Content Really King?: You can have a sleek-looking blog, but if you have poo-poo for content, nobody is going to want to read it. We’ll go over embracing and honing your “blogging voice” and what sort of posts and wording will get people interested.
–Speaking of Sleek-Looking…: Nice design does go a long way and we’ll discuss what tricks and tools you can use to make your blog the belle of the ball.
–Is SEO a type of disease?
–How Do I Grow Traffic on my Blog?
–How Do I Make Money from my Blog?
–How Do I Get Laid From my Blog?
We’ll analyze other blogs and I’ll give you a list of folks who can help you with design or other stuff you suck at.
The suggested donation price is $10. I understand being b-r-o-k-e and I don’t want the price to turn anyone away. If you’re interested in coming and can’t afford the suggested amount, just let me know!
The class is Wednesday, February 6th 8PM and is an hour long. We’ll have time after the class to talk and meet other bloggers in the beautiful space at Vuka.
If you haven’t been to Vuka Co-Op yet, it’s a gorgeous co-working/event space in Bouldin Creek area (411 Monroe, to be exact). The space has parking.
I’ll bake cookies. Anyone else interested in bringing snacks is welcome to do so!
If there is anything you’d specifically like me to discuss at the class, leave it in the comments below and please share this event with your blogger friends!
So excited and can’t wait to see you there!
If you’re interested in going, please RSVP on the Facebook event or leave a comment in this post just so I can get a head count!
I’ll also being having another blogging class later in the month as part of a larger event. Will keep you posted on details!
