Last night I saw an advanced screening of The Muppets.
And as I predicted, I cried eleven times, including once within the first 60 seconds of the film.
When the entire Muppet gang sang “The Rainbow Connection”, I lost it.
I just wrote a whole review, but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post it, so I’ll wait.
Instead I will share with you the write-up I added to the Muppets window which was featured in the East Austin Studio Tour this weekend and next.
It was our third date. You were screening your movie. I was nervous.
I really liked you.
When I left the theater I discovered that someone had broken into my car.
The next night you took me out to dinner. You felt bad about the broken window so you offered
to make me a new one. We stood on the dark street cutting out a cardboard window. You
asked me who I wanted driving alongside me. I told you the Muppets. You drew Kermit,
Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear by the light of my cell phone.
I drove around with the Muppets for months. One time I took them down and a crossing
guard lady shouted, “Hey, where your peoples at!?” Everyone smiled when they saw my window,
but I loved it most becaue it was made by you. My Muppet cardboard window has been rained on,
sunned on, taped over and ran over numerous times, but it still stays strong.
I recently got a real window, but I will never get rid of the Muppets window you made for me.
I will never forget that night.
BeStill My Beating Heart…
I still have my original Animal Muppet Puppet; and yes, His eyebrows still work.
and the Ever~lovin Chook bought me an Animal ski cap for when I ride my bike, and also to the The Muppet Movie premiere in a week.
I just bought the Meep Meep Meep color from The Muppets collection by OPI.
you wouldn’t think we are Muppet Fans would you?
What a wonderful memory surrounding your art piece. Makes Life worth it…
Oh wow! There is a Meep Meep Meep color by OPI?! Hahaha. That’s awesome! I’ll have to look this up!
I love me some Muppets
I love this! Those drawings are amazing!
The Muppets hold a very special place in my heart too. My best friend and I (despite being 30-year olds) are counting down the days until the Muppet movie premiere.
